Yupeng Ge, an Associate Professor at Ludong University, also serves as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He joins Biodiversity Data Journal as a subject editor for Agaricomycetes and Basidiomycota, focusing his research on the systematics of Crepidotaceae, Mycenaceae, and Porotheleaceae. In addition, he explores the distribution of macrofungi across China's diverse forest ecosystems.

"Taxonomy is challenging but deeply rewarding. It's about the small details that build the big picture. As the Chinese say, 'do good and let the future unfold.' I’m here to cheer on and work alongside fellow mycologists on this exciting journey,” says Yupeng.

Additionally, Yupeng adds a touch of personal charm by mentioning, "Pensoft Publishers requested a solo picture along with this announcement, but all my photos are with my better half, so I've used a couple's photo instead. It's also a delight to introduce my wife, Professor Qin Na, to the community."
