Davide Dal Pos joins Biodiversity Data Journal as subject editor for Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera)
Davide Dal Pos is an Italian entomologist who is now a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Central Florida (USA), specializing in Darwin wasps (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonoidea). His work integrates systematics, comparative morphology, and evolutionary biology, with a focus on understanding how anatomical innovations shape diversification and host-use strategies in Ichneumonidae. He has described new species, clarified taxonomic concepts, and contributed to knowledge of morphological evolution - including detailed studies on the skeletomusculature of Hymenoptera genitalia - and convergent adaptations associated with host ecology.
Davide is the founder of the World Ichneumonidae Database (WID), an important global resource dedicated to Ichneumonidae taxonomy, built in collaboration with researchers from institutions worldwide. He has further contributed to collection-based research, digital databasing, and community-driven initiatives in Hymenoptera systematics.
Davide is pleased to join Biodiversity Data Journal as a subject editor for Ichneumonoidea. He values open-access publishing as a foundation for biodiversity research and for supporting future work in systematics, ecology, and conservation.
