Claudio Cucini joins Biodiversity Data Journal as a Subject editor
Claudio Cucini is an Italian postdoctoral researcher at the University of Siena (Italy). He has a background in molecular biology and progressively moved toward bioinformatics during his PhD. His research spans several areas of genetics and zoology, with a particular focus on Collembola, integrating systematics, evolutionary biology, omics sciences, and metabarcoding approaches.
One of the central pillars of his research has been the study of Collembola biodiversity from a genetic perspective, aiming to uncover cryptic species and investigate their distribution using molecular data.
Claudio is pleased to join Biodiversity Data Journal as a Subject Editor. He strongly values open-access publishing as a cornerstone of biodiversity research and as a means to support future work in systematics, ecology, and conservation.
Further information about his research activities can be found on his ResearchGate and Google Scholar profiles.
