Matheus Colli-Silva joins the Editorial board of Biodiversity Data Journal

Matheus has completed his MSc and PhD degrees in Botany at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. During his academic journey, he gained international experience with short periods of study at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv, Leipzig) in 2019, and the New York Botanical Garden (USA) between 2022 and 2023.
Currently, he holds the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at the esteemed Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (United Kingdom). His research endeavors revolve around critical areas, including the systematics and evolution of the cacao and the mallow family (Malvaceae), crop genomics, the geographic history of wild crop relatives from Brazil, and biodiversity informatics.
Matheus is actively engaged in bridging the gap between taxonomy, wild crop genomics, and biodiversity informatics, fostering a comprehensive approach to understanding and preserving plant diversity.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the Biodiversity Data Journal team! Excited to contribute to scientific knowledge and advance biodiversity research, including the valorisation of data papers. Together, let's make a difference and reach new heights in the world of biodiversity research!" says Matheus.
