Pensoft to join the SPNHC-TDWG 2024 conference
Pensoft will be an active participant in the upcoming SPNHC-TDWG 2024 Joint Conference, an event that will bring together researchers in biodiversity data and natural history.
The conference will take place from September 2 to 6, 2024, at the Okinawa Convention Center, Japan under the theme “Enhancing Local Capacity, Elevating Global Standards.”
The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections (SPNHC) and Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) are organising the event together, working closely for a second time after holding a joint conference in 2018 in Dunedin, New Zealand.
TDWG's annual conference is a leading forum in biodiversity informatics, and this year's collaboration with SPNHC will offer a perspective into linking the preservation and management of natural history collections with the development of biodiversity data standards.
One of the main sponsors of the event, Pensoft will have its representatives there: founder and CEO Prof. Lyubomir Penev and CTO Teodor Georgiev.
Pensoft also publishes Biodiversity Information Science and Standards (BISS), the official journal of TDWG. The first abstracts for SPNHC-TDWG 2024 are already available in BISS, providing an insight into the research to be presented in Okinawa.
