Oscar Sanchez Molina joins as a subject editor at Biodiversity Data Journal

Biodiversity Data Journal is glad to welcome Oscar Sanchez Molina as its newest subject editor.

Oscar Sanchez holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in biological sciences (zoology) from the National Museum/Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (MN/UFRJ, Brazil) and a bachelor’s degree in biological Sciences from the University of Jaén (UJA, Spain). He currently works at the Laboratory of Simuliidae, Onchocerciasis, Medical, and Forensic Entomology of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (LSOEMF/IOC) and serves as associate curator of the Simuliidae Collection (Diptera) of the Oswaldo Cruz Institute (CSIOC/IOC). He has experience in zoology, with a special focus on the taxonomy, systematics, ecology, and distribution of aquatic Diptera, particularly the family Simuliidae. He has been actively involved in the curation of entomological collections and has an interest in entomological surveillance and insect vector species. Additionally, he has been a member of the Association of Spanish Scientists in Brazil (Acebra) since 2022.
