BgBOL launches special topical collection in Biodiversity Data Journal

17 December 2024

A new topical collection, "Towards a DNA barcoding reference database of the Bulgarian biota," is now open for submissions in Biodiversity Data Journal.

Initiated by the Bulgarian Barcode of Life consortium, the collection aims to support the open publication of DNA barcoding data of the Bulgarian biota.

Authors are welcome to submit their reference collections for specific taxonomic groups in Bulgaria, as well as case studies from the country using the application of new and innovative methods for molecular research.

The first five accepted manuscripts will be published free of charge, and all other accepted manuscripts will receive a 15% discount.

A mandatory requirement for publication is that all data are made publicly available in the Barcode of Life Data System or GenBank for high-throughput sequencing data. Priority will be given to larger datasets and highly collaborative initiatives.

The collection is already accepting submissions and will remain permanently open.
