Patricia Mergen: New editor for Biodiversity Data Journal
Patricia Mergen has accepted to be subject editor in
Biodiversity Data Journal. She has a background in biology and has been working in the field of biodiversity information since 2002. She worked for the Belgian
GBIF node until 2005, after which she started working for the
Royal Museum for Central Africa and the
Meise Botanic Garden in Belgium in activities related to biodiversity informatics and project management. She is part of the
Biodiversity Information Standards (TDWG) executive committee, currently the chair of the partnershis and fundraising sub-committee. She has been active in various data standards working groups and has participated in their implementations. Recently she has also been active within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). "I am looking forward to getting to see interesting submissions and happy to contribute to this interesting journal," she says.
