Biodiversity Data Journal's 2024 annual awards

For the fourth consecutive year, Biodiversity Data Journal recognises its most impactful authors and most active editors in an annual awards initiative. This year, the journal recognises three authors for their influential work published in 2021 that had a lasting impact on the scientific community. The honorees are:
- Lee Belbin for the paper The Atlas of Living Australia: History, current state and future directions
- Lakmali S. Dissanayake for the study Paraeutypella guizhouensis gen. et sp. nov. and Diatrypella longiasca sp. nov. (Diatrypaceae) from China
- Vladimir Pešić for A DNA barcode library for the water mites of Montenegro
BDJ would also like to acknowledge commitment of its editors in 2024. The three most active editors receiving this year’s recognition are:
- Yanfeng Tong
- Paulo Borges
- Enrico Ruzzier
To celebrate their achievements, BDJ is awarding these authors and editors with vouchers for free publications in the journal, valid until the end of 2026.
